Now one of the best types of workouts you can do without equipment are calisthenics. This is using your own bodyweight as resistance. Calisthenics in some ways can even be more effective than lifting weights. So what are some exercises?
One of the best calisthenics exercises to master is the pull up. In this exercise you find a bar and grip it medium grip apart. Simply hang on the bar and then pull yourself up. If you can get up to 20+ pull ups you will be at an amazing fitness level.
The most common calisthenic exercise is the push up. Not that it really needs explaining but get on the ground with hands shoulder width apart. Lower your body by bending at the elbows. Keep your back and whole body straight and then push back up. 30+ is a good goal to shoot for.
The bodyweight squat is an excellent exercise to put in your workouts. Have your legs shoulder width apart. Bend at the knees and squat down then up.
For actual workouts, to start you can do full body. For example it might look something like this for a workout
- Pull Ups 4×10
- Push Ups 4×10
- Squats 5×20
- Lunges 5×20
- Hanging Leg Raises 3×10
- Calf Raises 3×20
